Spiced Apple Cake {With cream cheese frosting}

Apple Cake-1
My husband has a friend in town this week, and so I'm on my best hostess behavior, making sure they have plenty of treats to snack on throughout their day.
When I saw this recipe on Smitten Kitchen, I kept it open and made it that same night. My house flooded with smells of cinnamon and apple and sweet cream cheese icing.
They both loved it and needless to say, the cake was gone by breakfast.

Hope you all have a fantastic Halloween weekend! We will be making our way to the parade in greenwich village with spiked cider in tow :)

  14. This looks amazing! I have a lot of baking to do this weekend :) I'm heading to the Stuy town parade on Sun afternoon to watch the kiddies and animals. They actually dress them up too and it's adorable! Then I might make it down to the village later too.

    Have a great one, sweetie! xoxo

    I think if you are tucked indoors with enough ingredients to make a few of these cakes all should be well :)

  19. For anyone thinking of making this, here are my tips ...
    Next time I would add a dash more sugar, a teaspoon more apple sauce and a mashed banana.
    Walnuts were key, so definitely add them to cake mixture, also sprinkle on top of frosting.
    I'll be making this again soon!!

    xx
